We took a slew of crap out of the RV/Bus and shoved it into the car but also found this trailer hitch travel rack…to carry my drum trunk to Chicago so I DON’T have to rent a trailer just for it to arrive anywhere…anymore. she scored this for pretty cheap and quickly. So we, like I always say, “Make it work!” …into her already full vehicle. LOL
Stencils Made by Real Hands!
In a world full of online sites and vendors that can make stencils for you…as a gen xer I’m bullheaded and still say, “fuck you, I’ll do it myself.”
There’s something special about taking artwork from start to finish. Turning it into a stencil with a razor blade, some hard card stock, and a printout of the logo.
This is the kind of shit that ends up in the Post-Punk Industrial Museum!
How To Refurbish a $17 Snare Drum from Craigslist
A few weeks ago I got a call for a gig. Now, I have to admit a secret. All the years I’ve been an NYC-based drummer I have NEVER owned a drum kit… I DO own hardware and some cymbals. To play this gig, I need a very basic setup. I needed a snare [drum], hi-hat cymbals, and a bass drum. So far I’m one for three, had the hi-hat already. With a tight budget to work with, less than $50, it was off to Craigslist to find a suitable snare drum.
